Common Questions

Do I have to subscribe?

No. Right Verse can be used free, with no time limit. The free tier gives you five verses each day, your journal for today and the three days before it, unlimited notes and favorites, the full New King James Version, and search across your journals, notes, and favorites. The App shows you what is included when you first choose it, and you can see it again from Settings → Upgrade to Premium → Continue for Free.

I've run out of verses for today.

The free tier includes five verses each day, counted across the verses you ask for, Daily Bread, and Try Another (the circular-arrow button). They come back the next day — nothing is lost and nothing expires. If you would rather not wait, Premium removes the limit.

Why can't I open older entries in my Journal?

The free tier shows today and the three days before it rather than your whole journal. Nothing has been deleted. Everything you have written is still saved, and a Premium subscription opens the whole history exactly as you left it. The dates you cannot open yet still show their marks on the calendar, so you can see that the entries are there.

Why can't I choose a different translation?

The free tier includes the New King James Version (NKJV) in full — every book and verse. Premium adds Christian Standard Bible (CSB) and New Living Translation (NLT).

What are Margin Notes?

Tap the note icon on any verse to write your own thoughts about it. Margin Notes are free and unlimited, they stay with the verse they belong to, and you will find them all together in the Margin tab. Your notes are never sent to AI and are never used to generate anything.

Can I turn Margin Notes off?

Yes. Hide Margin Notes in Settings removes the Margin tab and the note icon from every verse. Nothing is deleted — turn it back on and your notes are exactly as you left them.

How do I share a verse?

Press and hold any verse, your own message, or a reflection, and choose Share. You pick which parts to include, see exactly how it will look, and choose a light or dark card. What goes out is an image.

What does Premium add?

Unlimited verses each day, your complete journal history, three translations instead of one, Face ID (iPhone) or Biometric Lock (Android) protection for the app, and links from any favorite or note back to the journal entry it came from.

Is an account required?

No. Tap "Continue as a Guest" on the sign in / sign up screen and you can use Right Verse without an account. Your conversations, favorites, and preferences are saved on that basis and stay private to you.

Creating an account is optional, and available at any time. An account can be signed into from another device, and a conversation history saved without one cannot.

What happens to my conversations if I don't create an account?

They are saved and they are yours, but they live only with that installation. Because there is no email address attached to them, we have no way to recover them. If you sign out, delete the App, or lose the device, they are permanently gone. If your journal matters to you, create an account.

I started without an account. Can I create one later and keep what I've written?

Yes, and this is the intended path. Open Settings and tap Create Account. Everything already saved is attached to the new account and nothing is lost. The App will warn you if you choose an action that would lose it instead — signing in to a *different* existing account, for example, replaces the session rather than keeping it.

Does Right Verse store my text?

Yes. What you enter is used to generate a response, and is saved as part of your personal conversation history within the App, so you can look back on past conversations, notes, and favorite verses. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What is the "Before We Begin" screen?

It is where you agree that the prompts you write are sent to OpenAI, which is how the App finds Scripture for what you describe. Nothing you write is sent to OpenAI before you agree.

You can tap Later instead. The App stays open to you, but asking for a verse brings the screen back, because finding Scripture for what you describe is the part that needs OpenAI. Daily Bread does not send anything to OpenAI, and neither does the verse under the Journal calendar.

What if I didn't receive my verification email?

This applies only if you created an account with an email address. Check your spam or junk folder first — verification email sometimes lands there. If it hasn't arrived after a minute, tap "Resend" on the verification screen in the App. Codes expire after 10 minutes. If yours has expired, request a new one. If it still doesn't arrive, contact support@woodmillcoaching.com.

Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google need no separate verification, and continuing without an account needs none either.

How do I delete my account or my data?

You can delete individual entries at any time within the App by pressing and holding on the entry. To delete everything, go to Settings and select Delete Account. This works whether or not you created an account with an email address.

I subscribed, but a different device shows free-tier limits.

Tap Restore Purchases on the Upgrade to Premium screen, which you can reach from Settings. If you subscribed without creating an account, the subscription is tied to that installation — creating an account is what lets it follow you to another device. A subscription bought on iPhone also unlocks Premium on Android, and the reverse, when you sign in to the same account.

How do I cancel my subscription?

In Settings, tap Manage Subscription. You can also cancel in the store you subscribed through: your Apple Account settings on iPhone, or Subscriptions in Google Play on Android.

Is this a counseling or advisory app?

No. Right Verse is for inspiration and reflection only and does not replace professional advice.
